Dyno Testing

Extreme Race Suspension uses the latest technology with the Roehrig 4k electro-magnetic Actuator shock dyno. The Roehrig 4k has 60hp, a stroke range of .25mm to 175mm, velocities over 3 meters per second as well as many other features.

If you are into serious or club level motorsport we are able to test, service, rebuild and revalve most brands of dampers. As most drivers are different in styles and car setups, we are able to test any brand of damper (struts included) and provide graphs and techanical advice on whats best for you individual needs. If you are a street driver we are also able to test your shock absorbers (any brand) and also provide techanical advise on what is best for your cars ride, handling or your individual needs. Listed below are a few tests we are able to provide with dyno graph print outs if you require them.

We are able to run a variety of test on your dampers including:

- Standard Dyno Tests  (Sine, Triangle and square waveforms)

- Frequency Analysis,

- Run track data from Pi and Motec data loggers,

- Custom test can be built to suit your requirements,

- Spring testing dynamic rating curve,

Dyno testing will provide you with a better understanding of your dampers:

- Forces at different speeds,

- Affects of temperature on the damper,

- Adjustment Range and how the adjustments work,

- Make sure your dampers are what you require and are matched with the set,

- Check for any leaks or damage.

Dyno testing is also the best way to find inconsistencies in shock absorbers, show new characteristics after revalving and to help find the ideal track setup.

Utilizing our Shock Absorber Dyno and years of experience in race suspension we are able to recommend a valving and spring set up for your rally shocks, targa shocks, curcuit, drag or offroad suspension, to suit your needs or for a track you are going to compete at. 

Using our Roehrig 4K we are one of a few suspension shop that can test Shock absorbers that reach high velocities, such as Rally Suspension which at times can reach speeds over 3 m/s which our Shock Absorber Dyno is able to reach.  Without this valuable tool some companies are only guessing what their shock absorbers are doing at these high speeds. 

For people using Motec or Pi dash logging equipent with Shock Absorber POTS we are able to download the data gathered and run a simulation test on our Roehrig 4k EMA in real time whether it's a lap, single stage or an entire season.  These tests are then able to be converted to various graphs.  This can save valuable track and test time when tuning shock absorbers for different tracks or comparing different race suspension set ups at the same track to list a few advantages.
